How Google Search is Marginalizing Bangladeshi Journalism in Favor of Indian Media
A Western tech giant has pushed aside local, original journalism on a story that originated in Bangladesh in favor of an avalanche of divisive coverage of neighboring India
Two conflicting narratives have emerged surrounding the recent arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das in Dhaka on charges of sedition. Both narratives deserve attention. Supporters say that Chinmoy is being silenced for speaking out against the oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh. On the other hand, his critics say that this Hindu religious leader was involved in a negative campaign to destabilize further a government that was in crisis after Sheikh Hasina’s resignation. Hindus have long been used as pawns in the international strategy of the Awami League in Bangladesh.
