Load shedding is happening in all the districts of Bangladesh and the people of the country are suffering endlessly

The people of the country have suffered endlessly due to repeated power outages in intense heat. However

The country’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been talking about the development in the past era, achieving 100% electricity capacity.

The lamp of his development has been silenced.

Although electricity comes and goes in Dhaka every hour, the situation outside Dhaka is dire. Electricity does not go, when it comes is now a question of people. People have to live without electricity in many villages.

Last Monday (July 4), there was a demand of 15,000 megawatts of electricity across the country. But, on the contrary, electricity production has been like 12 thousand megawatts

According to the government, load shedding is said to be 12,500 megawatts, but in reality it has exceeded 2,500 megawatts, according to the sources of the electricity distribution companies

Apart from Dhaka, due to gas and electricity shortage for several days, the production of garments in Gazipur, Savar, Konabari, Ashulia, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Mymensingh districts of the country has been severely disrupted.

Industrial owners said that factories have to be closed most of the day due to gas and electricity shortage. It is not possible to send products abroad on time due to disruption of production. As a result there is fear of cancellation of export orders

When the situation will improve:

Chairman of Petrobangla Nazmul Ahsan told the media that they have taken various steps to increase the production of domestic gas. The situation will improve soon

An official of DPDC said that they are getting less electricity for two-three days. So load shedding is forced. The company is getting less than 200 MW of electricity out of the 1650 MW demand. It requires half an hour to an hour of load shedding.

@ An official of DESCO, another company that distributes Dhaka electricity, said that the maximum demand is 1,000 megawatts. They are getting 100 to 200 MW electricity less. Loadshedding has to be done three to four times for half an hour to 1 hour depending on the area

The demand of the distribution companies is that PDB is giving them 7–800 megawatts of electricity less on an average than before for the last 2–3 days. Due to which they have to handle the situation by load shedding.

PDB claims that for the last 2–3 days they are not able to produce 3500 MW of electricity due to gas shortage

These gas-based power plants are ready to produce electricity, but they are not able to go into production due to lack of fuel. In this situation, this crisis has suddenly arisen. According to them, this crisis may last for another 2–3 days.

Meanwhile, due to the increase in gas crisis, the sufferings of households and industries have increased. The stove is not lit since morning in most of the houses. Production in factories is disrupted. Gas supply has decreased by 50 to 75 crore cubic feet in the last 15 days

It is known that the government has stopped buying gas from the spot market due to the increase in the price of LNG in the international market. Due to this, the supply of gas in the country has decreased. This has affected the power sector including residential industries

LNG, which was bought from the spot market at $25 per unit (mmbtu) in the last week of June, has now risen to around $40. As a result, the government has stopped buying LNG from the spot market to reduce losses. Due to which there is pressure on power generation.

Petrobangla says that gas supply in the country has decreased by 35 to 50 million cubic feet per day for a week. On June 20, Petrobangla supplied 313 million cubic feet of gas per day. Of this, 83 million cubic feet was obtained from LNG. On that day, 108 million cubic feet of gas was given for power generation. Still, 1,269 megawatts of electricity production was stopped due to lack of gas.

On June 30, Petrobangla supplied 295 million cubic feet of gas, of which about 62 million cubic feet came from LNG. Gas supply fell to 282 million cubic feet on Sunday. Only 49.6 million cubic feet is available from LNG. On this day, 98 million cubic feet of gas was given for power generation. Due to gas shortage, electricity production has decreased by about 2,000 megawatts

According to official data, 810 MW of load shedding has occurred across the country. However, according to the distribution companies, the amount of load shedding is about 1500 megawatts.

Serious crisis outside the capital:

Meanwhile, the power crisis in the capital Dhaka as well as in the districts outside Dhaka has become dire. Northern Electricity Supply Company Limited (NESCO) is engaged in electricity supply in two parts of the northern part of the country

Azaharul Islam, managing director of Ozopadico, which is in charge of electricity supply in 21 districts of the southern region, said that they also have to do load shedding because they are getting less electricity.

Their maximum demand is 640 MW. Jakiul Islam, managing director of NESCO, who is in charge of power supply in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions of the northern region, told the media that they are getting 90 to 100 MW of electricity less.

The company has 2 million customers in 16 districts across two divisions. The suffering of electricity consumers in these areas increases every year. The situation has become more dire now due to reduced power supply.

According to PDB sources, the electricity demand in Rajshahi and Rangpur sections is 1 thousand 900 MW. Out of this 1 thousand 300 MW in Rajshahi and 600 MW in Rangpur. However, if the demand for electricity increases, this amount of electricity supply is not available.

According to PDB sources, the production capacity of the Rural Power Company (RPCL) power plant in Mymensingh is 210 MW per day. Due to shortage of gas, currently the grid can provide up to 100 MW of electricity. Besides, a 95 MW power plant of Power Pack is closed in Jamalpur district. As a result, electricity is not being supplied from there. Mainly due to this reason it is affecting Mymensingh division.

The record of highest electricity production in the history of the country was recorded on the night of April 16. At this time, the maximum electricity production was 14 thousand 782 megawatts. The previous record was on April 12. On that day, 14 thousand 423 megawatts of electricity was produced.

Development Leakage Balloon:

When the people of the country are disorientated by the power crisis, Sheikh Hasina is busy breaking the rules and taking pictures with her son and daughter at the Padma Bridge. People of the country are disorientated due to various pressures, even though they have tried to keep people enthralled by telling stories of development day after day.

In one day, there is a terrible rise in daily essential products, on the other hand, the existence of common people is on the way to extinction due to corruption, terrorism, and lack of justice.

Added to this is the terrible load-shedding of electricity during intense heat

The people of Dhaka say that the false story of the electricity production record has been exposed. Although load shedding is low in the capital, customers outside Dhaka are not getting electricity throughout the day.
