This past Tuesday, Tulsa UX had their first Lightning Talk series of 2018.

Every six months the meetup switches formats from feature-length speakers to Lightning Talks. This has two purposes — First, it gives new speakers a chance to present without having to commit to a full keynote. Additionally, it provides the group with a diverse set of topics presented within a single meetup! As always — If you’d like to become more involved or present at a meetup, please contact us at hello@tulsaux.com!

Lightning Talks

“Lorem Ipsum Can Burn In Hell“ by Josh Rich

Josh is a UX copywriter at Brookside Studios. He spoke about how copy affects UX and why you shouldn’t use lorem ipsum when solving UX problems. See his full presentation here.

“Safari can’t do UX“ by David Svezhintsev

David — a freelance web designer and developer — presented a case about how iOS in Safari has some technical limitations that prevent users from creating very basic and expected UX elements on their web applications. See his full presentation here.

Thanks to everyone who attended! We want to also thank our sponsors: TEKsystems for the catering and 36°N for the venue space.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 10th where we will be screening the documentary Objectified.
