My name is Farida Wamukoya. In this world, there are different challenges that we young people face. Some of them are difficult hence making us not to achieve our goals. We as young people we need to look for the ways to overcome these challenges.

After I had called it done for my secondary education, I did not know which course to pursue for I had different courses to study. My passion was in teaching because while at high school, I enjoyed leading my fellow students at times when the teacher was not in class. Most of the student liked it and even encouraged me to be a teacher. It was at that moment, that I realized that I can be a teacher. I stayed home for some days after which I was informed about Tunapanda Institute. I later joined the institute where I actually gained a lot about Business and Design skills.

I graduated from the same institute and decided to put the skills that I had acquired into practice. I started my own business which was selling fruits at the nearby school. I was able to gain more money though, to unavoidable circumstances, the business slowed down as some of the fruits got spoiled after staying for a long time without being bought. As an entrepreneur, I did not give up for I had to buy fruits in small quantities to avoid stocking them thus preventing them from being spoiled.

While still doing my business, I decided to learn computer packages after which I learn accounting software which helped me to account for my business. Actually, I have gained a lot about modern technology. I now know how to make a balance sheet and also three column cash book.

For the time being, am an apprentice at Tunapanda where I am gaining more skills in business as an entrepreneur. This is because I would like to have my own business thus providing employment opportunity to the young people who find it difficult to get the job.

In the near future, am planning to continue with my studies to pursue education as my career job. Thereafter I will start up children’s home to share with other people the knowledge that I would I have gained.
