My name is Melkizedek Mirasi. I am currently doing my apprenticeship at Tunapanda Institute (Nairobi, Kenya). I love lots of things and just to choose some of the things that I like:

  • I love tech stuff. Solving problems with tech has been made easier! Instead of waiting for three days to send money to your cousin or grandma who is upcountry, just get on your phone, open M-Pesa app and just with a few clicks, you are done! The money has reached the destination — your cousin/grandma can get it! That’s the power of tech. In the olden days, we used to put the money in a bus and then wait for almost three days for the money to reach the destination.

At Tunapanda Institute, I’m developing my craft of web design. I’m also learning entrepreneurship skills, design skills, communication skills and generally, the 21st century work skills.

  • I love music. Listening to rap also makes me feel good ☺.
  • I love comedic stuff. Hey Dave Chappelle! Hey Donnell Rawlings!

Achieving most of your goals but having zero fun is stupid. It’s like multiplying big numbers like a million by zero, the answer will always be zero.

  • And I really love entrepreneurship and business life. I love being near people who are businessmen or start-up owners. I feel good when I’m asking them questions related to their businesses. Entrepreneurship life teaches me a lot of things — sacrificing, passion, money. One of the TV programs that promote youth in entrepreneurship in Kenya, BLAZE by Safaricom usually say (which inspires me in the entrepreneurship life):

Greatness Requires Internal Toughness (G.R.I.T)

My love for rap has made me love documentaries related to the genre of music. These include the origin and evolution of rap, and life of renown hip-hop artists such as Jay Z, P Diddy, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre among others.

Similarly, my love for entrepreneurship has made me love documentaries related to entrepreneurship life. I have been following entrepreneurship TV programs such as Lion’s Den, BYOB (Be Your Own Boss) both which are local (Aired on Kenyan TV channels) and Shark Tank, which is international.

In conclusion, I love lots of things but I find using most of my time doing the mentioned above things, they take almost up to 85% of my typical day. Other things that I like include eating, typing, reading and arguing! Ooh web design, walking while imagining, and practicing mindfulness and meditation! I usually find the mindfulness and meditation, taking long walks and reading very useful: They help to boost your creativity and innovativeness. You need to start practicing them now! Let’s interact more, bye!
