Purpose

Enable collaborative lives of purpose through manifesting amazing learning and work experiences for skill growth, dignity, and problem-solving.

Summary

Tunapanda Team is one of the four main Circles that help run and govern Tunapanda’s daily processes. The Circle exists to help maintain well-organized finances, promote Tunapanda’s brand presence and also ensure its team has fun working together. All these are made possible through various roles, processes, and projects that the Circle maintains to ensure set deliverables and objectives are met.

Problem

How to ensure Tunapanda team members can work and have fun together while also providing a good brand positioning strategy. This also ties to maintaining well-organized finances which is an essential process in any organization.

Solution

“Failing to plan is planning to fail” — Alan Lakein.

During Tunapanda Team planning meetings, three main objectives were identified to help push the Circle and the organization forward.

1. Improving the visibility of Tunapanda’s brand

The team pushed several methods to see this objective a success. The methods include but not limited to:

  • Posting at least 3 times per week per social sites — This is done through a sitting every Monday to schedule the posts.

Input from everyone is usually welcome to boost diversified content and also to be in the know of current projects and activities that may suit Tunapanda’s online community.

This branding move not only favours the organization but also individual members. Apprentices worked together with the team to create theme-based designs which also helped improve their portfolios.

The team also utilized Medium and published several articles under this publication. This improved general writing skills and also boosted chances to better grant writing and client proposals.

2. Team Unity

Tunapanda Team put in place different strategies to push this forward:

  • Weekly Wednesday team meetings — These help the team to get project updates, discuss general agendas and also solve tensions that may have risen throughout the course of the week.
  • Quarterly birthdays — Tunapanda is one big family and every member has their special day. Apart from just working together they also celebrate and have fun together by celebrating team members’ birthdays.
  • Warm up activities — The team takes at least 10 min before their weekly Wednesday meeting to have small warm-up activities (gratitude & meditation sessions). These activities help boost productivity after the meeting and also relieve any stress caused through short games.
  • Annual team building activities — The team also organizes annual team building activities which help promote teamwork. The experience out of the normal workplace also helps push innovative ideas while having fun.
  • Board and indoor game activities — The team also manages various types of strategy and indoor game kits. After a long week of putting in work members usually can enjoy these come Friday afternoon.

3. Financial Stability

Having a well organized and maintained financial system is crucial to any business. That is why Tunapanda Team circle handles all the financial related elements in Tunapanda.

The team together with another Circle — Produced by Tunapanda, which handles all clientele works that come in Tunapanda, tracks gigs which help inTunapanda’s monthly budget plans.

In the spirit of transparency, all financial documents and processes are usually open to every team member. We’re always striving to work from a teal perspective and that’s why radical transparency and accountability really matters to us.
