We are Tunnyl and this is our startup story. Follow our publication as we build a web platform from scratch.

What?

At its core, Tunnyl is a team-building platform. We want to help people get together and launch projects. Think of Tunny like a mesh-up of Craigslist (we are huge fans!) and Meetup, with a bit of Amazon and Facebook sprinkled in.

We love the freedom of Craigslist; the interest-oriented team-building aspect of Meetup; the robust rating history on Amazon; and the social connectivity of Facebook.

Our formula combines some of the best parts of these services into a platform that we believe can help people put together all sorts of creative, community, creation, and productivity projects without the expense.

Why?

For many of us, side projects are a way for us to enjoy our hobbies. For others, projects are an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, test an idea, or even get a business off the ground. We believe that there should a low-risk way to pursue these endeavors — a way that cuts the cost of running such projects.

How?

In the words of our friend Harry, Tunnyl ultimately solves a cash flow problem. Yes, you could hire people for your project, but we don’t always have the disposable income to put into our hobbies or to risk on ventures. This is where Tunnyl comes in. Rather than put up cash, you offer Favors to other Tunnyl members to help you on your project.

Of course, Favors won’t always help you fill every role, so some cash can help cover the cost of renting equip or hiring specific help.

Who?

Who is willing to work for just a Favor, you ask? I am and I have. So is the resting of our team. And, we hope, you as well. We invite you to create a profile today.

Where?

We’ve soft-launched our service at www.tunnyl.com and are actively testing in Hong Kong and New York City. Want us to head to your city? Let us know at help@tunnyl.com.

When?

Tunnyl will be in the testing phase for quite some time. We aim to update our publication here on Medium every week to give everyone a glimpse of our progress.
