Shreya Agarwal On Completing 1 Year With TurboHire
Shreya Agarwal, Communication Design Specialist at TurboHire, is the powerhouse of creativity in our organization. The one who livens up meetings with her presence — more than it all, a humble human being who is catching up with the design world as not just a professional but as a passionate artist.
A NIFT graduate, with strong communication and design-thinking skills, Shreya has completed a year at TurboHire and well, she has just poured her heart out…
“Some days it storms, some days it shines, that’s how flowers grow”.
Precisely how I would sum up my professional journey so far. Before the world exploded into a pandemic or was just about simmering to, I had a mini-explosion inside my head too. About where I was going with my current job, whether I was headed in the right direction, and honing my skills as I had planned.
After a lot of thinking, I put down my papers in November 2019 in a job I had barely been in for four months and got relieved from it by January 2020.
Everyone, mind you, everyone around me told me it was a bad idea to quit a job, let alone the first job so soon. But staying in a job where I couldn’t see any direction for myself, was being “out of love” in a relationship, hopeless and lost.
Where people were struggling to find jobs or had lost them to the pandemic, I had willingly checked out of my previous job confidently, hoping I would get another easily.
Just when I was about to lose my confidence, TurboHire came to my rescue in the midst of a microbial war in June 2020.
I remember being interviewed for almost 2 hours by Sana Shaikh, Search Advertising Strategist at Google, Hyderabad who was consulting with TurboHire then. That interview gave me a lot of confidence boost because I got validation for my work from an experienced professional from Google.
After 2 days of interviewing, I finally joined TurboHire as a Communication Design Specialist.
The best part about my role was and still is, that I get to dive deeper into anything about design. A plethora of hats to wear every day, right from designing a website, making an animation video, or pumping up the social media with quirky ads. That’s the beauty of a startup, endless scope for experimentation and exploration.
TurboHire has been an extremely fulfilling organization to be in, both in terms of work and culture.
Right from Deepak Sir (CEO), a wise monk and an elderly figure to all of us at TurboHire, bringing stability and maturity, to Aman Gour (Co-Founder) a balanced catalyst, always encouraging us to push our boundaries and work smarter.
I’ve also had the privilege to work under Shoan Shinde(Marketing Director), who has more than 10+ years of experience in Marketing and Design, who doesn’t pave the way for us but enlightens us to discover it for ourselves.
Every individual at TurboHire is extremely talented and at the same time very humble and grounded, that is the essence of this company, “it’s not what you do, it’s how you do it”.
As a fresher, I have taken charge of multiple projects at TurboHire, not because there wasn’t anyone else to look over me, but because I was given this freedom by choice. This freedom has helped me be responsible for work myself, without being micro-managed.
When I look back at this 1+ year journey with TurboHire, I see the change in myself, for how my work and ethics towards work have evolved, and I’m nothing but grateful.
I hope to contribute more and learn even more in this organization with time. Salut to a great year and many more to come!
