Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse theatrical release dated
Sony will be taking its time with the concluding part of its animated trilogy, for better or worse
So it’s finally official… even if it may not be what Marvel fans wished to hear from Sony Pictures in April 2025. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third and final part of the acclaimed animated trilogy, is now scheduled to get its theatrical release on June 4, 2027. That’s no less than four years after the second part, Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse, was released. Considering that the first part, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, was released in 2018, it will be almost a decade before we get to see how the story of Miles Morales plays out.
The first film of the trilogy won the hearts and minds of movie critics, comic fans and animation enthusiasts all over the world due to its well-written story, its unique look and groundbreaking audiovisual techniques that set it apart as a modern masterpiece. It won the 2019 Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature, as well as the BAFTA, Hugo and Choice Critics awards of the same year amongst countless others. It introduced mainstream audiences to Miles Morales and the multitude of universes in existence, each one containing a different version of Marvel’s beloved web-slinger.
