It’s midway through the year, so it’s the perfect time to reflect on all of the books I’ve loved so far (and a few I couldn’t stand).

Let’s dive right in!

How has my reading year gone so far?

I have read 30 books so far this year. My original goal was to read 24 books in 2024 so I am pleased I have already surpassed that number.

January was an outlandishly prolific reading month for me. In the months since, my reading has definitely slowed. As I work full time, it can be difficult to juggle my favorite hobbies, reading and writing. Nonetheless, I’m always striving for a balance.

What are the best books I’ve read so far this year?

Luckily, I have discovered a lot of gems this year already.

I was blown away by Foster by Claire Keegan. This is a short novella about a girl who is sent to live with foster parents. Keegan’s writing style is gorgeous. On the surface, it is simplistic. But, the story is also brimming…
