A solid cliffhanger at the end of an okay story.

Valya (Emily Watson) learns of news that threatens her plans, so she must visit Salusa Secundus to ensure everything stays on track. Meanwhile, Tula (Olivia Williams) enlists a student, Lila (Chloe Lea), to undergo a process known as the Agony to learn more about the force threatening their order.

I’m having some mixed feelings about Dune: Prophecy. I was so excited about this show because it focuses on the Bene Gesserit, who I find to be utterly fascinating. But I’m not as hooked on this show as I expected to be. I think it’s okay, but I haven’t been wowed yet, save for the two cliffhangers at the end of the first two episodes.

Dune: Prophecy is trying to accomplish so much and introduce us to so many characters that I think some moments really drag. The world is so big, and the alliances are so complex that it is difficult at times to fill the audience in on all of those intricate details. But I am curious how the show will continue to progress. Now that we’ve had two episodes of getting to know the characters and their dynamics, I’m curious how the tension will start to ramp up for these characters.

The great news is that with so many characters with vastly different personalities and priorities, there is bound to be loads of tension.
