Fargo season two takes us back to 1979, where police, criminal enterprises, and average citizens combine in a winding tale of murder and other crimes.

Season one of Fargo is both hilarious and smart; there’s a lot of crime happening while also some solid character development throughout. And the second season follows in its steps.

What’s so interesting about this season is that it sets up a lot of the events that happen in the first season. So, if you’ve watched the first season, you’ve already heard a little about these explosive encounters. This framing helps make everything more exciting. We’ve seen what the world is like more than 25 years later, but we’re not sure how we got there.

By the end of the season, as things come full circle, the show brilliantly includes details about characters we met in season one. I was really impressed by the world-building of season two to set up season one so well while also including nods to the original film Fargo and other Coen Brothers’ films.

Fargo season two adds in a ton of interesting and colorful characters, leading to some rather explosive clashes. And, of course, as they find themselves in these difficult situations, they grow and change along the way.
