It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for the TV-TWO team, but we’ve not been resting on our laurels. Not one bit. We’ve been out spreading our ‘Future of Television’ message far and wide and meeting supporters in China and Hong Kong.
As mentioned in our previous blog, Jan and Philipp’s first stop was Shanghai, where they met up with the trade.io team and attended a pitch night in this amazing city’s WeWork office. The reception they received was no less remarkable. 130 people attended the event, which was co-sponsored by us, trade.io, and FinTech Connector.
While Jan and Philipp were scheduled to speak for just an hour, given the crowd’s enthusiasm and the continuous questions, it ended up being more like two! It was great to see so many people engaged with our mission — we really got the sense that the tech community in this part of the world is truly embracing the blockchain revolution.
Just a few days later, our founders flew to Hong Kong to spend some time at trade.io’s Asia office. They were warmly welcomed by personal advisor and trade.io’s director of business development, John Patrick Mullin, and had the opportunity to meet other members of the trade.io team as well as a host of other exchanges, funds, crypto-enthusiasts, mentors, and advisors.
Despite various governments’ resistance to cryptocurrencies and token sales, interest in blockchain technology remains high in Asia right now. The people we’ve met in China and Hong Kong are super excited and so enthusiastic about the blockchain’s potential, and (dare we say it) seem to be better informed on the technology and its various applications than the majority of people in the West.
We were delighted that so many of those we met out here seemed to just innately ‘get’ what TV-TWO is about and how our disruptive approach is just what the television industry needs.
So, the whirlwind tour continues and we’ll update you very soon on the next leg of Jan and Philipp’s tour — Japan and South Korea.
