Tweak — OLA Pickup location on Map
Its only either Uber or OLA. At least nothing else comes on top of my mind whenever I have to book a cab. OLA is my choice (Not that I don’t like Uber). OLA has been innovative to mould its product to better suit consumers’ use cases.
OLA Play — Entertainment in your cab. Diverts you from the anxiety caused by traffic around. Although OLA Play could be better than how it is today. Will write another tweak on this later.
OLA Share Express — Increase the availability of cabs and help few customers save a bit extra at the same time.
What’s actually painful?
Book a cab and sometimes you realise your location on the map doesn’t match your pickup location on the map. Its a bit distant away.
1. anxietyLevel++
Don’t have to explain how it adds to the pain to call the cab driver and sort this now.
2. bookingCancellationOdds++
This could happen because of some tech glitch or the customer might have unconsciously moved the pickup pin on the map.
Tweaking a bit
Tweak 1
While making a booking just show an alert if the user’s current location (the blue dot) and the pickup pin are a bit distant away.
Alert the user and take a confirmation on the pickup location.
Tweak 2
If the realisation somehow happens after the booking is done, that the user’s current location is away from the pickup location, aim to reduce customerAnxietyLevel and reduce the need for customer communication with the driver during this situation.
Show an alert to say that the user’s location is away from the pickup location chosen and give the user an option to easily switch the pickup location.
