Today, we released the first ever build of the next, major Tweeten release to our 20 pre-alpha users. Tweeten 2.0 includes lots of things. I’m not lying.

Here’s a list:

  • Completely re-written from the groundup which means: it’s faster, lighter, more stable, more secure, and of course: prettier.
  • A brand new welcome experience
  • A completely revamped Settings experience
  • You can now automatically pause GIFs in columns
  • Seamless, one-click auto updates (not enabled on pre-alpha)
  • We’ve implemented a new hot-fixing system that will allow us to remotely release quick CSS-related fixes for Tweeten (not enabled on pre-alpha)
  • You can now get notifications for your notification columns when Tweeten is opened in the background
  • Ability to mute certain words or phrases, and apps/services
  • Custom CSS! (for developers)
  • Ability to disable tweet stream and hide sensitive data on columns
  • You can now show verified badges for users on columns
  • Thinner scrollbars
  • Blur details of message sender in DM column
  • Hide conversation idicators
  • Hide actual messages in the DM column
  • Bitly link shortening built-in
  • Ability to enable hardware accleration
  • Loads of other minor improvements

We will try our best to get this out for everyone asap. So stay tuned for more.
