Twigg, an upcoming web application aimed at redefining the digital story publishing industry, has been selected by Google to join its exclusive Web3 startup program aimed at advancing innovative technology firms building in Web3.

Google looks for intriguing, big ideas and strong traction to bring real-world utility to blockchain technology, and following a thorough interview process Google Cloud was happy to invite Twigg to the highest tier of their Web3 Startup program.

Benefits of the program include up to $200,000 in Google Cloud credits, enhanced support & training, VIP access to Google Cloud events at global Web3 conferences, and access to an exclusive discord community for Google Cloud Web3 partners and founder. Additionally, the program comes with priority access to partner grant programs from leading blockchains such as Polygon, Solana, Base, and more.

Twigg CEO Stephen Poynter said:

“It’s encouraging to see Google partnering with projects such as Twigg, which indicates they are willing to see beyond the narrow scope of narratives most focus on in Web3, and envision a future of mass adoption with user-friendly tools that enhance more personalized customer journeys made possible with blockchain technology in all sorts of domains. That’s exactly what we are here to do, and our goals will be all the more attainable with Google’s strong suite of tools by our side.”

Poynter noted that the cloud storage credits will be especially helpful for Twigg, given that it plans to bring rich multimedia experiences to the digital storytelling space. Instead of, say, just being limited to black and white text, the platform will allow for more data-heavy images, video, sound, and more.

Plus, “one of the most demanding computing need of all in this age is AI — and Twigg has many ways we plan to augment the user experience with AI. I can’t think of a better partner for that than Google,” added Poynter.

“Most people will be surprised when Web3 mass adoption finally comes. It won’t come in the way most people expect — in fact, most people won’t even realize it until after the fact. Like we saw with Reddit’s success with their avatars, it will come with Web2-friendly platforms with a frictionless user experience.

“Most people don’t realize there are over a hundred million active users of storytelling apps, not to mention ten times as many e-book readers. It’s a large market ripe for disruption. And I suspect — as Google apparently suspects as well — that mass adoption will come in areas just like this.”
