Dear Kosmos community,

Welcome to the first edition of Kosmos Recap — your best way to get quickly caught up to speed on Kosmos’ progress!

We’ll give you a few glimpses behind the scenes along with a recap and previews of what’s to come — while keeping it refreshingly concise and to the point :)

What’s in this edition:

  • Highlights of the past month
  • Development updates
  • Community recap
  • What’s next
  • How to get involved

Highlights of the past month

A month ago we launched our brand, including dropping the website, press (e.g. this Influencive article), twitter, discord, and more. 🚀

With the help of our all-star lineup of partners (including Neo Tokyo, BeNFT, This Thing of Ours, Worlds Beyond, Opus Labs, Hourglass, Affinity, and many more) we brought in over 400 holders from those communities into the Kosmos discord, and garnered over 500 twitter/X followers. Our goal has been to establish an initial core community of supporters; larger marketing efforts will wait until closer to product launch next year.

I was in Vegas for the CryptosRus event and connected with team members, advisors, partners, investors, and more. You can see the quick recap here.

We had some incredible banter in spaces with partners to discuss the evolution of storytelling — recordings are linked below:

Development

We formally started development with Blocksafe on August 1st. These first two months are dedicated to finalizing the scope and UI. It’s been fun to see some mockups come through and refine the vision of how everything will work together, as we create something truly fresh and powerful that’s never been seen before.

Be sure to track the “previews and product” channel in our Discord for some sneak peaks and discussion on the interface as it develops.

We also have an updated, cleaner, more modern logo:

Community

Our first few Outlaw Gatherings were a success — this is our main weekly community gathering, every Thursday at 5:30 EST. We’ve shared photos, stories, and laughs, and even had quite a bit of fun with ChatGPT and Midjourney together. Shout outs to Sc0rp1c, Landry, Lourder, and Donut for sharing your stories and skills. Each week we’ve awarded Kosmos Credits — which will be able to be used to unlock paid content on the Kosmos platform once it launches, as our in-app payment system.

We awarded OG roles and have started bringing some opportunities and alpha to the OG community. If you don’t have the OG role and would like to get it — show up to live community events and you’ll have a chance :)

What’s next

Our next Outlaw Gathering (Thursday September 7th, 5:30 EST) will be dedicated to The Next Crypto Gem, a contest-style TV show premiering that is incubated by Hourglass, the Web3 collective that is also behind Kosmos. Jett, Hourglass CEO, will be present to share more about the show, and a few hours later we’ll have a watch party to watch The Next Crypto Gem premier together. 🔥 I think this show will blow expectations out of the water and lead to a real shift in public perspective on Web3. Two of the three judges on the show are also advisors to Kosmos — Brian D Evans and George “CryptosRus”.

Soon after, Nathan (Kosmos COO) and I will be heading to Singapore for the Token 2049 conference, Asia’s leading Web3 event of the year. It will be a week packed with education and networking. If you’ll be in Singapore that week or know someone who will be that should connect with Kosmos, let us know!

Overall, we are focused on: finishing our funding round, keeping development on schedule, cultivating strong partnerships, and helping you all develop your stories so that they will be ready to publish on Kosmos!

How to get involved

There are a few simple things you can do to support Kosmos during this stage:
1. Attend Outlaw Gatherings and twitter/X spaces — they’re fun, help everyone stay informed, and form tighter community bonds!

2. Make introductions to partners that may be a good fit for collaboration or investment.

3. Keep developing you own stories, and share progress/get community feedback in the Kosmos server so we can help you get them in ship shape in time to publish when we launch! Ultimately, your stories are the most important part of this whole ecosystem — what it’s all about. 💜

Conclusion

We’re incredibly grateful for each an every one of you. Thank you for being part of this mission to reimagine storytelling — as we make the user experience more rich, engaging, and memorable than ever before, while giving creators full control over their work and fan relationships.

If you have questions or thoughts don’t ever hesitate to reach out — just respond to this email, or find me on any other platform. 🤝

All the best,

Stephen
