Official Event Name: Two Or More: Free Bikes 4 Kidz (A Twin Cities Startup Week Service Collaboration!)

We are so excited to have this service event on the #TCSW18 lineup this year. The Two or More is an amazing and different way to engage with the TCSW community, and give back. We asked the folks at Two or More to tell us a bit about this wonderful service opportunity.

What drew you to Twin Cities Startup Week this year and encouraged you to get involved?

Twin Cities Startup Week has been a fantastic place for us to connect and pay it forward by donating our time to create events and content that support entrepreneurs. We’re thrilled to be involved in building and hosting TCSW events for the second year. There’s just no other event or conference that can match the entrepreneurial energy, diversity, and range of content that comes together during TCSW!

What is your event, how does it work?

Our Two or More event is a signature service event during TCSW. This event provides a great opportunity to build something truly meaningful by working shoulder-to-shoulder in support of a good cause! We are partnering with Free Bikes 4 Kidz this year and hold the event on October 11th from 12–3pm.

Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a nonprofit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. Through this TCSW special service event, we’ll leverage the energy of our entrepreneurial community to clean, repair, and prep bikes for distribution to area kiddos. And we’ll have plenty of time to socialize and meet our professional peers in the process!

Who is the target audience for your event?

Anyone that wants to jump in and give back to the community (No specific skills required, but bike mechanical aptitude is a plus on this event!)

What is the primary goal of your event?

We believe in the power of collaboration. Beautiful, inspiring, valuable, amazing things happen when two or more people show up with willing hands and open hearts. We’re here to facilitate those kinds of connections.

Organized by Authentic Brand, Two Or More is a community of Twin Cities business people, collectively sharing our time and talents through volunteer initiatives and grassroots projects that benefit our local and global communities.

We have three goals behind the Two Or More initiative:

  1. Make an impact. One person can change the world. So imagine what two or more people can accomplish together. We believe in the power of collaboration, and the exponential impact of our united community.
  2. Connect professionals. There is something special about serving shoulder-to-shoulder with others who share your values. This is business networking at its most authentic, because it’s not about business at all.
  3. Inspire generosity. We aim to create a movement that cascades far beyond our events. We hope to inspire business leaders to make generosity a core pillar of their corporate culture, creating and committing to their own volunteering and give-back programs.

Startup Week is a great way provide resources, education, and engagement to startups and entrepreneurs, how does your event reinforce this?

This unique service opportunity provides so much for the Startup Week community. Our goal is to give back to the community through tangible acts of service, plus network with other business professionals in the area. We think this is a win-win, especially for the startup community.

What other events are you planning to attend?

In addition to leading our own events, we are looking forward to attending most of the TCSW Signature events, and especially excited for Twin Cities Startup Week Awards & Closing Party — hosted by our clients and friends at GoKart Labs. Last Year, still a “team of one”, Authentic Brand was thrilled to be recognized as a finalist in the “Newbie” category at this awards event. This year, we can’t wait to celebrate the achievements of all the leaders, drivers, builders, and trailblazers that make our community a great place to build and grow a business.
