  1. What’s the meaning behind your company’s name/brand?

Maazah means “flavor” in Farsi. We named our company because it not only describes the experience of eating and tasting but it’s also used to describe a fulfilling and joyful experience in life.

2. What’s great about starting something in the Minnesota region?

Minnesota is full of food lovers who prefer to support local companies. #madeinmn

3. What’s challenging about starting something in the Minnesota region?

Many gatekeepers to retail and distribution are unfamiliar to what chutney is.

4. What fuels you and your company?

THE PEOPLE! We love sharing a piece of our culture and connecting with people through food. The first few markets we were overwhelmed by people’s reaction to our product, they loved it! The “MMMs and Awws” were very audible and still to this day I blush a little. “This is so good I would eat it on a shoe!”

5. What stage are you at with your business?

We’ve seen the light at the end of the tunnel of awkwardly scaling our processes, made investments in machines and found new suppliers. We have increased our production capabilities from 300 units a day to 1,000+.We are kicking off a rebrand, product line extension(3–4 SKUs) and getting ready for regional markets.

6. How can the community can support your work?

  • Try/Buy our product and other local MN brands and share it with your friends and family members.
  • We are always looking for industry connections and mentors to help see a clearer path navigating the food space.
  • We are a family owned and operated company but we are always open to investor opportunities.

7. Anything else you’d like to add?

Visit us at maazah.com or email hello@maazah.com for more information.

xoxo
