AI, Tech and Twinkl — What Does the Future Hold for Educators?
The potential of AI has been a hot topic for years but, as it’s recently become a tool people are starting to use in everyday life, here at Twinkl we’ve been thinking seriously about the ways it can help educators.
Education has been transformed by applications like ChatGPT. Though these apps can alleviate some of the pressure by streamlining administrative tasks, some educators have raised valid concerns regarding their misuse by older students during examinations and coursework.
At Twinkl, we’re committed to providing educators with the necessary tools to support their teaching. Though it’s certainly a nuanced topic, we believe that AI-powered educational tools are going to reshape the educational landscape and that they have the potential to empower teachers and help them create teaching materials that are effective, diverse and engaging.

We already offer a range of tools with enhanced AI capabilities to help educators with various tasks. Our recently updated report writing tool is designed to be a teaching friend, to support the needs of educators. Aligned to the curriculum, this tool allows users to select statements from the full breadth of the curriculum, accurately reflecting their learners’ progress. With AI enhancements, the tool transforms chosen statements into a finished report at the touch of a button, relieving the stress of report writing and giving educators the time they need to do their jobs to the best of their ability.
This month, we launched our own AI assistant, Ari. Ari is designed to support educators by providing them with the ability to reduce the time taken to produce their teaching content. With the use of set prompts, Ari can generate responses from the data it receives, allowing educators to save time, find inspiration and be supported with their lesson planning. Crucially, Ari encourages educators to use their own wealth of experience when creating materials, rather than relying solely on AI-generated content.
We take pride in not using AI to generate teaching content, instead entrusting this task to real, experienced human teachers. The AI tools we’ve developed have been carefully crafted to enhance educators’ capabilities, save them time, and reduce their workloads.
