Many reasons can inspire someone to cosplay: the love of crafting, new friends, or the challenge of learning a new craft. Whatever the motivation, cosplayers all enjoy being able to show off their completed costumes and bringing these characters to life. If you want a good dose of passion coupled with some amazing skills, check out our three featured cosplayers for April 2018!

Essradi

As a long time crafter, Essradi started to cosplay regularly in 2016 after being inspired to start more challenging projects. Of all of the costumes she’s made to date, Essradi’s favorite is Celestia Ludenberg from Danganronpa. “Celeste’s wig was a very stressful adventure where I had no clue if it would turn out anywhere close to what I wanted. Seeing it completed exactly how I wanted it and putting it on for the first time was one of the most amazing feelings!” Join her warm and welcoming community to get some cosplay tips, watch Essradi work on her current project (Nagito Komaeda from Danganronpa 2), and watch her play some Guild Wars 2!

ScarlettRoseCosplay

Scarlett Rose started cosplaying in order to make more friends who enjoyed the same things she did. Her most favorite cosplay that she’s done to date is her Hunger Games: Catching Fire dress that she made with her mom from scratch. Currently, Scarlett Rose is working on three costumes from Game of Thrones: Khal Drogo, Daenerys, and Jon Snow. “I try to keep my streams as a casual and relaxed atmosphere so people feel comfortable chatting with me and asking questions while I build costumes.” Make sure to check out her progress!

Fawnina

Eleven years ago, Fawnina was inspired to begin cosplaying after dressing up as Hermione and attending a Deathly Hallows Grand Ball at her local Borders bookstore. The reactions and interactions with others made her want to make more costumes. “My favorite aspect of cosplay is the act of creation. Being able to see a costume come together solely due to my own efforts. Those efforts may not be perfect or flawless, and I absolutely mess up with each and every project, but being able to look at a finished project and think, ‘This would not exist if not for my hard work,’ is very rewarding.” Tune in to her stream to catch her working on her latest project (Ashe from Final Fantasy XII), or some casual gaming with her inclusive and fun community!
