Most people struggle with the decision on what they want to be. This man’s different. His dream is to become a lobster.

The pressure young people today face when deciding what they want to be or what they want to study in college has never been higher. That’s why it’s so amazing to find a young man who holds no doubt on what he’s destined to become.

Carter Homaridae, pictured above, recognized the looming decision he faced very early in his life. His mother, Wendy Homaridae, was quoted by saying, “I always knew that Carter was going to do something with himself. When he was just a boy, he was always fascinated by the ocean and the creatures that dwelled within it. Now, I’m not a religious woman but, his story has a predestination feel to it, no?”

Carter’s crusade to become a lobster has had it’s share of speed bumps, however. Countless doctors told Carter when he was younger that it’s impossible for a human to transform into a lobster. A tough pill to swallow for young boy but, his beliefs never wavered.

Carter dedicated his weekends, summers in hot pursuit of a solution — to no avail. He grew up and began working for a tech startup out of San Francisco, as most young professionals do.

Then something amazing happened.

One late night, Carter was knee deep in some AngularJS code when he had an “aha moment”. What if he threw on a red shirt and walked into the ocean? It was a crazy thought but, it might be just crazy enough to work…

It did work. Carter became a lobster!

Update:

Carter’s transition into lobster-life has gone better than expected. He’s the second lobster to figure out the Rubik’s Cube and has had a book written about his transformation.
