The Tourist | A chat with Bob & Rita!
Hi am Romance Planner Marcus, welcome to Two On An Island, on Two On An Island anyone can tell beautiful love stories.
BOB & RITA MARLEY
Today, our story comes from a person I’ve admired for decades, he is the great Bob Marley from the island of Jamaica.
Bob’s story is entitled Stir it up, I hope you enjoy it.
As Bob tells it, recording the Catch A Fire Album took all of his time, it’s been a while since he last took the kids to Hellshire Beach! The night before leaving on the album tour, Bob went into Lovers mode.
He sent the kids early to bed and caught a fire with the Pimento wood he got from Georgie. As tinders floated up to meet the dark Jamaican sky, Bob called Rita to join him, as she came down the kitchen steps this is what he said…..
Bob: It’s been a long, long time, yeah! (Stir it, stir it, stir it together)
Since I’ve got you on my mind (oh-oh-oh-oh) Oh-oh!
Now you are here (stir it, stir it, stir it together), I said
It’s so clear
To see what we could do, baby, (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Just me and you
Mark: To create a relaxing mood, Bob lite a few sticks of incense along with citronella to ward off those pesky mosquitos, and I promise you that he did not forget a draw of his favorite variety of herb.
Bob then put on some music, He wanted to show off the Linn turntable he had just brought from New York, the music was jamming, but he turned it low, to not disturb the kids. He then said.
Bob: ‘ll push the wood (stir it, stir it, stir it together)
Then I blaze ya fire
Then I’ll satisfy your heart’s desire. (Oh-oh-oh-oh)
Said, I stir it together (stir it, stir it, stir it together)
All you got to do, baby, (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Is keep it in, and
Mark: The simple and intentional way Bob charms and delights Rita should be an example to everyone, if you’re waiting for Valentines Day to come around, then you’re not practicing, and it’s with practice that a skill becomes perfect, and romance is a skill.

Bob: Quench me when I’m thirsty
Come on and cool me down, baby, when I’m hot (oh-oh-oh-oh)

When you show and stir your pot
Stir it up, little darling stir it up, come on girl, come on, and stir it up little darling stir it up. Stir it.
Mark: Just remember, your love is your island.
