- Ideas must inspire others.
- Teach your audience something new they can use in their daily lives.
- Express meaningful connection to your topic.
- Ask yourself, “what makes my heart sing?”
- Speak about friends and family members to connect with everyday people.
- Establish credibility, share data and statistics, and make it emotional.
- Tell a story rich with imagery (see, touch, feel, smell, taste, hear).
- The honest, inside story of any man’s life, told without ego, is entertaining.
- Use metaphors, analogies, and vivid language. Don’t use cliches, buzzwords, and jargons.
- Practice over and over until it is like having a conversation with a close friend.
- Walk, talk, and look like a leader whom people want to follow.
- Make something remarkable.
- Package new information in a different way to solve an old problem.
- Never leave data dangling. Context matters.
- Craft a short message that conveys your big idea.
- Use humor with novelty.
- Deliver data one statistic or theme per slide (minimal words), followed by images.
- Be your authentic self.
- A great speaker makes you want to be a better person.
- You are capable of so much more than you’ve imagined.
