We have products that can generate images, take and summarize meeting notes, draft emails, and answer our questions.
These AI tools vary in usefulness. Over time, they will improve and become more dependable, but…
Right now, these tools can be time-consuming to use, still require a lot of back and forth, and are sometimes inaccurate.
Everyone talks about how impactful AI will become in our daily lives, yet the most useful application appears to be chatbots.
Last month, we announced a new consumer AI application to our tool Twos that saves you time and also stays out of your way so you can stay focused and get things done.
New AI
We’re calling it PALs or Personal Active Lists.
PALs are lists that do things for you and all you need to do is write things down.
Rather than having a conversation with a chatbot and needing to be interrupted at the end of every thought, this AI is asynchronous so you can capture without distractions.
They work like making any old list, maybe it’s a grocery list, a list of Christmas gifts, a list of things you want to do on a vacation, or even just random thoughts or recommendations you capture during a day. While you are adding list items, the AI analyzes the things you write down and provides helpful links to buy grocery items, purchase gifts, or find directions.
PALs are personal and private so your data isn’t sold or used to train a model. They are active and work in the background to help you find helpful information and links based on things you write down. And they are lists that are simple, effective, and easy to share and collaborate on with friends and family.
Why it’s better
PALs are a very simple list interface that keeps your information organized and shareable rather than needing to open many browser tabs or chats and then decide on where to store all of that information.
Rather than getting hit with blocks of text from a chatbot and then needing to figure out how you’re going to access the information later, you can just write things down in Twos and the links are saved and ready to access whenever you need them.
It’s exactly how you’ve been writing things down on Paper, Apple Notes, Evernote, or Notion and the AI just works in the background helping you with links so you don’t need to keep switching applications to do the next thing on your list.
It also syncs wherever you go so you don’t need to continuously look things up, switch apps, or figure out an alternative storage system so you can save time in the future.
What’s to come
This is just the beginning of PALs. PALs stands for personal active lists, but it’s also a new category of product that will act like a pal.
It’ll know you better than anyone does, but since it is private and secure, you can tell it things you’re afraid to tell other people because you don’t want to be judged or you want time to think about them.
You’ll be able to chat with it and ask it questions about yourself and it’ll be so much more helpful because of the ease of capture at all times.
It will help you organize your information and generate new lists that you didn’t originally have time to create.
It’ll know what you need to get done and will help remind you to make you more efficient when you’re at home or out and about.
Eventually, it will act more like the intelligence from the movie Her, we just have to start somewhere and privacy and helpful links is our foundation.
