Hello, and thanks for following along with TwoThoughts! We are TwoPlus Collaborative, an Austin-based design collaborative exploring the space between art and architecture in public places. We’ll be posting here about our thoughts, research, and recent projects.
TwoPlus Collaborative was formed by Elizabeth Farrell and Clare van Montfrans in the spring of 2017. Each holds a M.Arch from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S.Arch from the University of Virginia. Clare and Elizabeth have taught architecture studios at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Texas at Austin. They have experience working on public art, architecture, and landscape architecture projects in both Texas and Virginia.
Clare is currently living in a van with her husband and partner. She’ll be traveling the western US over the next few months, while working remotely for a firm in Austin and partnering with Elizabeth on TwoPlus endeavors. You can find out more about her trip at https://medium.com/vancilando
Meanwhile, Elizabeth is teaching an undergraduate design studio this spring at the University of Texas at Austin. Entitled, “Drawing Relationships,” the studio considers how drawing can be used as a way to interrogate architecture’s relationship to context.
