Over the Moon
A nighttime cafe.
Overview
At Over the Moon, our mission is to help the restless get to sleep in the blink of an eye. Through careful research and planning, each meal, snack, and drink was designed to help those with insomnia relax and develop a sense of sleepiness. The combination of our cafe’s cozy atmosphere and consumption of any of our menu items will have you dozing off before you know it.
Logo
Wanting to create a logo that was reminiscent of children’s books, I landed on the one featured here. Its playful essence and line work are elements that reoccur throughout the rest of the brand.
There were many variations, each attempting to address the illustrative, amusing, and comforting nature of children’s books. I chose to include these three logos as they were the strongest of the bunch design wise.
Style Tile
My brand’s color palette was originally based on different forms of the primary colors. Eventually more colors were added as newer illustrations were created. As for the patterns, they allude to the look and feel of children’s books I read as a kid. I chose clean yet fun typefaces to help accentuate the playful nature of the brand.
Feature Design
I wanted to include the matchbox as the feature design because it encapsulates everything about the brand. From its inherently playful attitude, soothing atmosphere, and illustrative nature this feature design epitomizes my brand’s identity.
