Since the public announcement, the crypto-community has been busy trying to place Typerium against its competitors. We have had comparisons to a number of other projects, with TRON coming up again and again. So how do the two compare?

What Is Typerium?

The Typerium concept can seem a bit confusing, but that’s only because there are many different elements to it. Typerium will be an app and platform that features creative software, intellectual property protection, a social network, a marketplace, a trust and reputation system, a payment gateway, a proprietary wallet all powered by TYPE Protocol and the TYPE Token ecosystem.

The intuitive creative software will help users to create beautiful visuals without needing years of design experience. Creators will be able to timestamp their content to the blockchain, which enables them to anonymously prove their IP ownership.

The social network will foster a community of creators that inspire each other to produce even better content. Just like other social networks, users will be able to post, comment, private message, like and more.

The Typerium Creative Marketplace will be an online space where users can come together to buy, sell and license creative works. All exchanges will be made with TYPE Tokens and stored in the Typerium wallet.

There will also be a trust and reputation system that leverages Ethereum’s smart contracts, as well as a blockchain-based payment gateway that provides cheaper, faster and easier transactions. These features will be available to third party retailers at a later date, so that they can also reap the benefits.

The success of an ICO is about more than just having a good idea; startups also have to be able to spread their messages effectively. So many promising ICOs have fallen flat, purely because they didn’t know how to communicate their ideas properly. Typerium strikes the balance by combining an innovative development team with the marketing minds behind campaigns for Nike, Sony, Pepsi and many more global brands.

The team have established key creative relationships in existing businesses, which have enabled
them to design, license and develop for some of the world’s leading brands.

Within just 2 weeks of the public launch, Typerium’s communication strategy has already helped to amass more than 79,000 followers on its social media channels, with many more to come once things are kicked up a notch.

What Is TRON?

TRON is a project that is aiming to help decentralise the internet. Like Ethereum, DApps can be built on top of the TRON Protocol and it uses smart contracts to facilitate a range of processes. TRON is a huge and ambitious project that aims to revolutionise just about every aspect of the internet. While such a wide scope is certainly impressive, it also means that the project must surmount immeasurable challenges in order to succeed.

What Are the Differences?

Typerium is much more focused than TRON. It’s not trying to create a whole decentralised internet, instead it is designed to fix some very real problems that the 300 billion dollar content industry faces.

Typerium’s app will make design easier for everyday users, allow them to record their IP and give them a marketplace to sell their creations. The social media aspect will give them a way to interact and form a community, while its use of smart contracts will help to automate reviews, resolve conflict, facilitate trust and more. The Typerium wallet, TYPE Token and payment gateway will all help to make transactions quick, easy and cost effective.

Sure, TRON could eventually provide the basis for DApps that perform similar functions, but it doesn’t really compete with Typerium in these areas. Typerium is building all of these features into a cohesive package with streamlined functionality.

Another key difference is that Typerium is built on Ethereum, while TRON will be moving to its own blockchain this year.

The Final Word

As you can see, there are many differences between the two projects, although both are ambitious and wide-reaching. TRON has already had a very successful ICO and has since blown past almost everyone’s expectations, making its early investors a lot of money and providing the platform the support it needs to fulfil its ambitions.

It’s still early days for Typerium, but it’s hard not to wonder: could it be next? The pre-sale starts on the 21st of May, Get in early for the best deal!
