Of Tigers and Cloth

Tiger stripes are quite a thing here in South Africa, not just the “cereal-box-cladding”/ ”Indian-Jungle-stalking”/ ”Cincinnati-NFL-team-helmet-printed” kind either. No I’m talking about the kind of Tiger stripes associated to those Onitsuka shoes all the YDE crowd sport.
The Onitsuka Tiger hype really reached a boil in the mid 2000's but now is making a steady revival by marrying the tech behind Ascics Gel-Lyte trainer and running technology + the Kung Fu masteresque style of Onitsuka Tiger + Swedish design sensibility = the “Tailor” pack.
Never in a million years did I think that the Tiger would be a man of the cloth. However with the right amount of Swedish design sensibility, from the peeps over at SneakerStuff, even the Tiger can look good on Sundays (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays even Thursdays and Fridays, come to think of it, they’d be awesome on Saturdays too.)
