There is much to see and do in and around Oxford. It is one of the oldest British cities still in existence. Tourists and businesspeople, for various reasons, frequently travel to Oxford.

Oxford, with Colin Dexter having set his Inspector Morse mysteries in and around the city’s famous university, is the United Kingdom’s murder capital. Dexter has attracted to the City of Spires many people. Their interest largely stems from a desire to follow in the footsteps of their favourite fictional Detective Inspector.

The most notable Inspector Morse titles, if you’re not familiar with the Inspector Morse series, includes Last Bus to Woodstock (1975), Service of All the Dead (1979), The Dead of Jericho (1981), The Wench is Dead (1989), The Way Through The Woods (1992), and The Daughters of Cain (1994).

The television film series, based on Dexter’s novels, makes great use of numerous Oxford locations. Jericho, as seen in the 1987 television film “The Dead of Jericho”, is a prime location in the first production televised.
