In today’s cities, mixing and matching transportation options is a necessity — and while Uber is a key part of many journeys, so are trains, buses, bikesharing and walking. A great transit app helps you consider your options and plan the best trip given your time and budget.

We’re big fans of Moovit, a transit app that helps people get around in cities around the world, so you can live the life of a globetrotter but still travel like a local. Moovit has now added Uber to their list of transit options in 22 countries (get ready): the USA, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Uruguay, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece.

Now Moovit users will be able to seamlessly plan their journeys using a combination of options such as buses, trains, bikesharing and Uber. Real-time estimates for Uber appear right on the Moovit homescreen, giving users immediate access to the information they need to get to their destination efficiently and affordably. Even better, if your preferred way of getting around is delayed or blocked by traffic, you can substitute Uber for part or all of your usual route (for example, to get to the train station faster than with your regular bus).

Add Uber to your Moovit trip planning

“Our goal is to provide our users with the best possible experience on public transport, but there are times when it’s quicker for users to get around via car,” said Nir Erez, Moovit CEO. “By now offering the option to order an Uber for all or part of a journey, we’re able to give our users even more freedom in deciding how they want to get from point A to point B.”

Check out Moovit in the App Store or on Google Play, and visit the Uber Developers website for docs and tutorials to build Uber into your own app.
