The Ubex project team has to deal with a large number of issues that have accumulated on the advertising market. One of these issues is the inefficiency and variety of data traffic protocols. To overcome the difficulties, the team of programmers is working on integrating various modules into the Ubex system. In this article, we will explain the difficulties being encountered.

There is a problem with transferring traffic over protocols of different versions, for example, from protocol 2.3 to protocol 3.0, or from protocol 2.5 to protocol 2.1. Ubex has developed a unique system for transferring requests from any version of the open RTB protocol to any other. An example of usage will be described below.

In our example, the company in question has an SSP supporting protocol 2.2. The company sends a request to the Ubex exchange. The exchange accepts the request, detects the version and with the help of a unique development of our programmers called the ubexrtb version converter sends a request to various DSPs that use different versions of the protocol. The DSP send the answer in their versions, say 2.4, 2.5, 2.0, 3.0. The Ubex Exchange re-uses the converter, conducts an auction and sends the SSP a response in version 2.2, which is supported by the SSP.

In version 3.0 of the protocol, a digital signature was added to authenticate requests, as well as a multi-level specification architecture, which should greatly facilitate communication between the SSP and DSP, as well as expand the query parameters.

Many would ask why we made it so difficult to carry out a seemingly simple task. The reason is because it gives us an advantage to connect all players of the RTB system, regardless of the country and version of their protocol. Korea works on the 2.5 version, China works on 2.4, an Europe operates on both 2.2 and 2.5, and so on. Ubex has decided to opt for the latest version called 3.0. As a global and truly international player, we are free to exchange advertising traffic between “incompatible players” from different regions. This is additional income for Ubex and grants the ability of launching cross-border advertising. It is also convenient for advertisers that can deploy their advertising throughout the whole world from one window. Having cryptocurrencies on the user’s balance makes the process even profitable in addition to convenient.

The Ubex project is developing and adding new modules to the system to ensure the convenient and versatile operation of the platform. Stay tuned for more news and updates from Ubex.
