In Engineering, people often refer to talented generalists as “Swiss Army Knives”. If you’re lucky, you might get to work with a few of these people in your career — engineers who roll up their sleeves and are able to deftly move between many parts of a tech stack, and patch up holes wherever they might be.

And then you have people like Sahn Lam. Sahn is not a Swiss Army Knife. He is a Bazooka-meets-Katan-meets-Yondu’s crazy whistling arrow thing from Guardians of the Galaxy. He is the engineer you need, not the one you deserve.

To successfully enable the kind of massively shared augmented reality experiences we aim for at Ubiquity6, you need a Sahn Lam on your team — a 25 year veteran of engineering at massive scale, who is as comfortable architecting new systems from scratch as he is at maintaining and extending legacy codebases, all in real time production.

Sahn is joining us as our Senior Architect after an 8 year run at Zynga where he was hand picked to report directly to the CTO, and was sent across the company to fix the largest scale, highest stake strategic and urgent needs across the organization.

He is joining us because he shares our vision of building the largest, most immersive consumer experience in the world. At Ubiquity6, he will be working on bringing massively multiplayer networking from the world of MMOs to augmented reality, by bridging the disciplines of real time multiplayer networking and computer vision to make it easy for anyone to author shared, persistent AR experiences easily.

If you’re interested in learning more about what Sahn and the team is building at Ubiquity6 please reach out! We’re hiring and would love to have you join us on the journey to building a shared reality.
