Urban Company’s vision is to empower millions of professionals worldwide to deliver services at home like never experienced before. Over the last 7 years, UC has expanded its footprint to 45 cities across 5 countries, serving millions of customers through a strong community of 35k highly trained service professionals.

These service professionals work relentlessly through sun, storm and rain to offer services from the comfort of your home. With that black equipment bag strung tightly to their shoulders, our professionals bring their polite smile, sincerity and endless patience. Every. Single. Time!

These efforts deserve to be acknowledged. And we’re urging you, our most loved customers, to come together and help us build a fair environment where mutual respect is paramount. Little acts of kindness like offering water to a professional, or simply providing washroom access will go a long way in raising their spirits and making the professionals feel welcome.

Starting this week, you will also find these small-but-extremely-effective cues in our bookings page (see below).

In addition, we are also introducing customer ratings on the homepage and the profile section. Put simply, it’s an average of all the ratings you’ve received so far. Yes, just the way you rate the professionals on a scale of 1 to 5, they also rate you. However, these individual ratings will be unknown, and only an aggregate rating will be made available.

With these small initiatives we hope to ensure dignity of work for our professionals because the only mathematical equation which matters to us at UC is

Happy professionals = Happy customers :)
