As part of a Science Foundation Ireland- funded study on the peer review process of grant funding , we are hiring 2 postdoctoral researchers. Both are three year positions, expected to start 18 June 2018.

Project title: A Mixed-Methods Examination of Reviewer Recruitment, Assessment Criteria, and Workflow in the Peer Review Process”.

The postdoctoral researchers will work in a team with PI, collaborators and other staff, conducting mixed-methods research to understand the peer review processes at SFI over time. The project involves interviews with key stakeholders, examination of documentary evidence, observations, and workflow analysis. The objective of the study is to inform policy-making in peer review processes, including evaluation criteria, workflow, equity and transparency. It is expected that the results will be presented and published in prestigious and relevant academic conferences and journals, as well as interim reports.

We will consider applicants who are close to completing their PhDs in a relevant field. Both positions require relocation to Dublin (Up to €2000 is available for relocation-related expenses).

To apply for either position and to see the full job descriptions, go to http://www.ucd.ie/workatucd/jobs. Click on External Applicants and look for 010281 (Mixed Methods) or 010282 (Agent-Based Modeling) under Research jobs.

Closing Date: 10 May, 2018 (5 PM GMT).

Please prepare a cover letter indicating your interest/qualifications, your CV, and names and contact information of 2 references.
