Week Oct. 12- Oct. 18, 2020

This is the first week of project as our team met each other and did setup work, familiarizing ourselves with the items we need to work with. We came up with interview questions based on the given subject, in order to understand the client’s needs. A meeting with the clients is set for next week.

Week Oct. 19- Oct. 25, 2020

From the meeting with clients, we gathered necessary information and defined a minimal system (minimum viable product, or MVP) that the clients want. We also started gathering data from pseudo-users, using interviews to identify a set of user stories, or things that users want to achieve. The aim is to incorporate user-centered features in our product to ensure that the product is meaningful to users.

Week Oct. 26- Nov. 1, 2020

The clients confirmed the MVP, and we moved onto exploration of our targeted users’ requirements. We used storyboards, personas and scenarios to illustrate the set of user requirements collected from our interview. Next, we did a set of sketches for the system that aims at meeting the users’ requirements. Feedback is asked from the users regarding the multiple alternative design for every feature.

Week Nov. 2- Nov. 8, 2020

We selected the more accepted sketches, collected from users’ feedback, as the basis of our prototype. We evaluated and modified our prototype of user-centered design. This completes one iteration of our exploration on human-computer interaction, which sets a user-centered basis for our system design. Finally, A report on HCI is produced.
