We’re continuing our tradition: every week UCoin will be publishing a short weekly cryptocurrency market news digest for you to stay informed on the latest trends. In this edition we look at what happened from 21 through 27 of June.

Launching of the London upgrade on Ethereum’s Ropsten testnet. London notably contains EIP-1559, which will improve the UX around paying Ethereum gas fees and will burn a small amount of ETH via every Ethereum transaction.

Bitcoin price has wicked below $30 000. On Bitstamp the price dropped to as low as $28,600. By the end of the week the market saw some recovery, with BTC rearing above $35 000, but high volatility remains.

On 23 June, the Spanish Supreme Court approved the extradition of John McAfee, jailed in the country. A few hours later he was found dead.

China banned banks and payment systems from working with accounts associated with cryptocurrency transactions.

Paraguay has announced a Bitcoin legalization bill.
