Tales from Udacity Intersect 2017, Part I
The photo above was taken as Udacity founder Sebastian Thrun was on stage this morning at Intersect 2017, celebrating the achievements of our students.
It’s been that kind of a morning. It’s hard to believe we’re only barely past morning. I am sitting in a chair outside the employer showcase, and everywhere around me are people just literally buzzing—with energy, with excitement, with passion.
Udacity CEO Vish Makhijani gave a keynote that was honestly challenging to keep up with, as the announcements just kept coming:
A new Robotics Nanodegree program.
A new Digital Marketing program.
A $100k Self-Driving Car Challenge.
With the news that our Deep Learning Foundations program is opening a new term, Vish announced that graduates would be receiving guaranteed acceptance into the Robotics program.
It was a big morning.
Our guests so far have been EXTRAORDINARY!
Lunch is wrapping up now, which means it’s nearly time for the Employer Showcase. This is where we truly connect learning to jobs.
There’s so much more to come. We’ve only just begun.
