It’s the last day of the month, and that makes it a perfect opportunity for some reflection!

Let’s start by going back to 2017. Almost exactly one year ago today, we shared some pretty exciting stories in our “This Week at Udacity” post, including one about quadruplets going to Harvard—we shared that one because one of the four wears a Udacity shirt! We also told you about a Udacity student whose deep neural network wrote 5 Game of Thrones chapters, profiled a three-time Nanodegree program graduate, and introduced the term “un-uglified” to our reading audience!

How about 2016? Were we on Medium then? You bet we were! Just about two years ago, we shared the debut of a great series called “Humans of Udacity!” The very first post in that series went live on our publication the first week of September 2016:

Alright, that’s enough reflection. What YOU want to know is, what’s happening NOW!

Well, things have been pretty exciting around here. Did you hear about our Hiring Partner Previews? What an opportunity THESE are!

And speaking of topics like hiring, our own Brian Hickey (Managing Director and Head of Europe in Business Development for Udacity) recently penned a fantastic post for The Next Web:

“We must empower as many people as possible to learn about the new technologies that we are becoming reliant on.”

Brian wasn’t the only Udacity voice in the news recently; Sebastian Thrun made a bit of a splash with this article:

“Bringing transportation into the air will make things faster, safer and more economically and environmentally friendly.”

Whether your future is in the skies or elsewhere, our graduates have a great deal of insight to offer anyone who’s looking to advance their life and career, as a recent post written by Adam Lane makes clear:

My personal favorite piece of advice? This one!

“Really prepare for every interview. I would suggest doing interviews with companies that you may not even have particular interest in, just so you get practice and experience in how the recruitment process flows.”

Love that!

As you may recall, this is a special two-week version of our series (I was away last week), so I’m going to go back to the 24th of August for the piece I’d like to close on today—this is such a wonderful collection of stories, and such a wonderful reminder of how fortunate we are to work with you, our wonderful students:

“I learned a lot of things from the scholarship community, not only about Android! It’s really what inspired me to do the same here, and give back to my community in Gaza.”

Ok, I’m not actually closing this post yet. I can’t. Because that would mean skipping … The Tweet of the Week!

The Tweet of the Week

How could we not love this?

“Ma, I worked hard for this.”

And THAT … is This Week at Udacity!
