IMPORTANT LINKS

UdacityVR.com

This is our companion website for the classroom material. We post information about group projects, promotional opportunities, and challenges here.

Forums

This is the general VR forum at Udacity. This is the BEST place to get help with the program. Please note, there are LOTS of different VR forums. You should use the drop-down menu to see all of them.

Downloads

This is where you can download ALL of the course assets needed to complete the VR Nanodegree. It’s recommended to just download everything at once.

One-On-One Advising

This is where you can schedule one-on-one help for your VR assignments.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO TO PREPARE

Organize your calendar.

We think you’ll need approximately 8 hours a week of focused time.

But please note that this varies greatly based on your programming experience and math background. If you are completely new to 3D math and have never programmed before, you should allot more hours per week.

There will be many opportunities for you to enhance your learning like group projects and challenges. You should expect these optional offerings will take more of your time.

Join our Slack community and introduce yourself

Join the #warmups channel, where we’ll be adding challenges while you are waiting for the program to start.

PLEASE NOTE: You’ll need to get an invite to the Slack. Don’t worry, it’s easy! Just use the self-invite form here.

Introduce yourself on the forums

Tell your peers where you live, what kind of VR projects you’re interested in building, what VR hardware you own or intend to buy, etc. Now is the time to make friends and meet people!

Want to start building Unity-based VR right now?

Our lead content developer, Vasanth Mohan, teaches several free VR training videos at Fuseman’s YouTube channel.

Start thinking about group projects and challenge projects

As part of the program, you’ll be building group projects with team members. Some of the projects will be challenges against your cohorts. Some of these projects will be for feedback only. Be ready with lots of ideas for what you’d like to build and think about what kinds of jobs you like to do on your team. Feel free to suggest things in the slack community as you are getting to know your fellow students.

OUTSTANDING PROJECTS

Exceptional projects will be nominated for reviewers for additional promotion. We post these projects in the outstanding projects forum, and periodically use those projects in showcases with partners and media outlets.

The thing to remember is: Work hard and you might get featured for Udacity VR promotions!

CAREERS

Don’t forget that you have a full team at Udacity to support your transition into the VR industry. Find out more!
