In the last few days our Italian customers at uDroppy reported us that Shopify stores are unreachable in Italy if you are using Wind, 3, Fastweb as your internet provider.

After a few tests our developers were able to successfully find a solution that works, and the stores of our customers are online and working without any problem.

How to fix it

To fix this you will have to make a super simple change in your domain DNS settings.

Log into your domain provider (e.g. GoDaddy) and go to the DNS configuration of your domain.

Locate your A record, it should have this configuration:

  • Type: A
  • Name: @
  • Value: 23.227.38.32
  • TTL: 600 seconds

And change it to:

  • Type: A
  • Name: @
  • Value: 23.227.38.64 (this is Shopify’s secondary IP)
  • TTL: 600 seconds

Save the configurations and you site will be back online in a few moments.

How to fix it (if your domain is registered on Shopify)

  • Log into your Shopify admin panel
  • Go to Online Store
  • Click on change primary domain
  • Select the main domain
  • Then click on the domain
  • Click on DNS settings
  • On the A record, click on Actions → Edit
  • Enter this ip 23.227.38.64 as value
  • Click on confirm!

You are done, your website will be online in a few moments!
