So, How can I start playing CryptoSpells!?
Hey to all Trading Card Gamers out there!
CryptoSpells is one of the newest Trading Card Games from Japan to leverage new “Blockchain technology” allowing users to exchange powerful cards between each other.
Crypto Spells is a product of CryptoGames, Force of Will Studios, and extension of MCH+.
In this article before getting Set Up in CryptoSpells, we’ll quickly review Blockchain & Cryptocurrency fundamentals for the newbies, showing how it all flows quite interestingly into games!
Let’s get started!
Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and how they related to games
Within the Ethereum Blockchain, there are things called “tokens” and “assets” which can be exchanged between users.
- ERC-20 — Is a fungible token, meaning it can be exchanged 1 for 1 like fiat currency (think USD, EUR, YEN etc..). In the world of Crypto, a fungible ERC-20 is thus a cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrencies are used to purchase digital items that are related to or rest on the Ethereum Blockchain. In addition, ERC-20 can be converted to your relative currency. Within CryptoSpells (CS), the ERC-20 token Ethereum (ETH) can be used to purchase the in-game currency “SPL”!
- ERC-721 — Blockchain games generally use ERC-721 tokens to create game “assets”, (ie. game characters, items and more). Within CS your cards have the potential to become ERC-721 tokens. Once converted into ERC-721, you own it forever! Furthermore these assets can be sold and traded amongst players. Thus it becomes possible to earn money through playing!
Now that we’ve covered the fundamentals, it’s game time!

What is CryptoSpells?
CryptoSpells is a trading card game where you can collect and battle other players with your deck of cards.
How Can I play?
CS can be played on mobile devices or on the computer!
Mobile:
- First download the game app from either the App Store or the Google Play Store. You can also play from the GO! Wallet app where you can purchase SPL with a credit card directly.
2. Once you have downloaded the app you will first see this screen. Simply click Start Crypto Spells!
3. From here you are creating a password and agreeing to the Terms of Service. Don’t forget this password!
4. Now that you’re in the game, press Start playing.
5. You will need to sign up and make an account within Crypto Spells. You can either sign up using a twitter account or an email, whichever you prefer.

6. Next you will see this screen (minus the CLEAR badges) and the battle of Crypto Spells begins!
Desktop Users:
- First navigate to the Crypto Spells website! https://en.cryptospells.jp/ and click Start Playing Button.
2. Sign up via Twitter or Email. By using this referral link

3. Once fully signed up and logged in your Crypto Spells “battles” begin ;) !
Connecting your Cryptocurrency Wallet to Crypto Spells (Optional)
Now, this next step is not necessary in order to play, but I personally feel it’s important to do!
If you need a desktop wallet we’d recommend MetaMask Wallet! The easiest way to use MetaMask is to download the Chrome Extension, make an account, and then run it straight from your Chrome browser.
Keep in mind that here too you need to protect the given password and private key associated with your wallet. If lost it cannot be recovered!
- Click here to download the MetaMask extension and to make your wallet!
2. Once you have downloaded MetaMask you will see it in your Chrome Browser. As shown in the red circle above.
3. Now click your Profile Avatar Picture in the top right of the screen and it will take you to this page. Next click Connect Address
4. Once Connect Address is clicked, you will need to sign-in to your Meta Mask Wallet.
5. From here click Connect.
6. Click Sign to Connect to Crypto Spells!
7. Just by Connecting your wallet, you have cleared a Start Dash Mission!
8. Just to verify your Wallet is connected, go to your Profile page where it should show your full Connected Wallet Address as shown above!
