Florida Gator turned Jacksonville Jaguar: Ashlyn Sullivan, Digital Reporter and Host
Migrating just an hour and 23 minutes north of Gainesville, Ashlyn Sullivan made TIAA Bank Field her new home after graduating from the University of Florida in 2017.
Currently, Sullivan is apart of three live shows on Jaguars.com and social media throughout the week. On Tuesdays, she gets content by going into the community to create a story of events.
Sullivan also hosts a show with Jags senior writer twice a week. On top of all of this, she also works behind the scenes with editing, writing and directing.
“What is the most exciting or rewarding part about your job?”
The most exciting part is when the players react positively from something on Jaguars.com that we have created such as a hype video or interview we put a lot of work into. The most rewarding part is going out into the community and seeing first hand the impact these players have on the Jacksonville area, Sullivan says.
THE FIRST.
Ashlyn is actually the first female to work in the broadcast department for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While at UF, Sullivan says that her entire experience in the Sports Media program helped her become who she is today.
She says she learned how to conduct herself in a professional manner despite being 22 when she began her career with the Jaguars. “Everything that I was taught in Weimer Hall from reporting to behind the scenes work helped me get the job where I am today,” says Sullivan.
Ashlyn’s advice for future graduates and aspiring sports journalist:
“I would tell them to find something they are passionate about and work hard everyday to be the best at what they are passionate about. UF is such a competitive atmosphere and I would tell them to take full advantage of that and push themselves to be the best.”
