Our Seminar Program is continuing online from May through June, below are our upcoming seminars to be held online over Zoom.

Proxyco Gallery & Ugly Duckling Presse are hosting a Latin-American-themed poetry reading celebrating the UDP Señal Series release of Mexican poet Alejandro Albarrán Polanco’s first book in English translation and Mónica de la Torre’s new book of experimental self-translation, Repetition Nineteen. The event is free and online and Zoom Links will be sent out to those who RSVP on Eventbrite.

Virtual Launch for Second Factory: Issue One
Saturday, May 30, 7:30PM EST
A virtual launch of UDP’s new magazine Second Factory with contributors to the first issue: Tony Iantosca, Benjamin Krusling, Kelly Hoffer, Joel Dailey, S. L., Sevinç Çalhanoğlu, Parker Menzimer, Emma Wippermann, Genevieve Kaplan, and Wes Civilz.

Second Factory showcases work from a variety of poets and artists in each issue. We are also accepting submissions for our second issue — see Submittable for more info.

Northeastern Seminars: Writing as Healing During COVID-19
The Writing Program and Writing Center at Northeastern University are thrilled to sponsor three weeks of online writing workshops for NU faculty, staff, students, and the community at large. Workshops are free, open to the public, and welcome writers of all levels and disciplines. Each workshop is a week long (Monday-Friday).
May 4 to May 8 — “We Are All Sitting In Rooms” with UDP author Ed Steck
May 18 to May 22 — “Writing as Healing: Of Being Numerous” with Emmalea Russo

AND DON’T FORGET: For every purchase made on UDP’s site before May 15, UDP will donate 20% to Poets in Need, a nonprofit organization currently providing emergency assistance to poets affected by the pandemic. PIN will be giving 100 $250 grants to poets in need of funds to maintain themselves and family members.
