Design Process ,Wireframes and Feedbacks
In my aim of understanding and finding possible areas of improvement in healthcare experiences , I tried to understand what the product was all about. Then, I spent first week interviewing the users, customer success analysts and the product manager to understand how to design an easy workflow.
After brainstorming,I continued by sketching out some of the most promising ideas to distill them down and also to get feedback from the team. Then, I transitioned to digital mocks once I figured out the major directions.
The product deals with creating walk-in requests for the user and also specify the user in two categories -patient or a health care provider. Then to make sure the user fills in all details and place a request for retrieving medical, billing or imaging records.A user is also required to go through the HIPPA terms and conditions in order to avoid any compliance issue. User inbound ,outbound experience and invoice were main areas of focus. Another feature was added to track the status of the requests.
It was quite cumbersome and I wanted to design a clear solution and make it future proof. So,I focused on navigation, easy visual experience, clear text boxes and guidelines and other visual improvements. In the end, I created wire-frame and prototypes for user testing and thus the feedback helped me to improvise the designs.
Takeaways
The ChartRequest has been an incredible learning experience.Within a short timeline,I had the opportunity to work on a project from “start to finish”,leading early research and continue the process by sketching, wire-framing, prototyping ,crafting the visual design. With the help of technology, it has helped building a personal and well informed healthcare system .
