Until a few years ago, internet users often came across a shrunken version of a desktop website when they were browsing the web through mobile devices. However, that’s not the case these days, as most website designers and developers put in extra effort to ensure that their website is well optimized for smartphones and other mobile devices.

The need to design a mobile responsive website became crucial a few years ago when Google made an official statement. In the statement, Google confirmed that they have made a slight adjustment to the search engine algorithms in order to consider the mobile presence of a website as an important ranking signal. This date was called as Mobilegeddon by several website designers and developers.

From the above-mentioned statements, it is evident that websites that are not optimized for mobile devices will not be able to secure a good rank in the search engine results pages of Google. This is not good for business. So, it is best to ensure that your website is mobile friendly and it offers a seamless site visiting experience to users, which in turn prompts them to stay on the site for a longer period of time.

It might come as a shock to many readers when they realize the fact that the number of smartphone users in the world was estimated to be around 2 billion back in the year 2016. A major portion of these years uses their smartphones to access the web. Most of these users prefer not to visit websites that are not properly optimized for small screens, which will considerably reduce the rank of your website.

Another recent study claimed that approximately 60 percent of the entire web searches. So, if you want to offer a fine site visiting experience to these individuals, then you must design a mobile responsive website. Website designers and developers who are able to do that will be able to improve the rank of their website and might even be able to lure in more visitors to their site.

Most of the responsive websites out there contains a flexible and fluid layout that gets automatically adjusted in order to suit the screen size of different types of websites. This means that if you design a responsive website, then the site will look great on both desktop and mobile devices, which will enable you to attract both desktop and mobile users to your website.
