The statutory heritage agency of the Isle of Man
Mission: ‘to lead the Island’s community in recognising, understanding, valuing and promoting its cultural heritage and identity to a world-wide audience’
It’s leadership role aside, Manx National Heritage is responsible for:
- The Manx National Museum Service (which runs twelve museum sites)
- The National Monuments Service (which protects monuments, manages the National Monuments Record and controls archaeological investigations)
- The National Trust Service (which preserves and protects areas of natural beauty and ecological significance)
- The National Archive
- The National Art Gallery
