27-MAR: Lviv update: Missile strikes

Everyone is OK.

Quick update to let you know everyone is OK despite the news this morning.

Some of you may be waking up to news of attacks in Lviv and across Ukraine this morning and realize if you saw last night’s A Current Affair story (26-Mar) — that Dan was in Lviv when the missiles struck.

We’ve just woken up to word from the team on the ground that everyone is safe.

Image taken from Aljazeera.com live blog.

Dan, as always, in jovial spirits and ‘work mode’ sent the following message:

Message from Dan 27-March-22:

“Do not stress, but 3 [Russian] missions attacked a fuel depot 3 hours ago. Then another few missiles elsewhere in Lviv. Rumors are 5 injured.

City is sheltering in bunkers, underground car parks and sirens are droning. All seems quiet for now however. Got some epic images.

Dan looking probably the most concerned we’ve seen him with missiles striking about a kilometer away…

Now business…

Our 2nd bus started the trip from Zaporozie to Lviv finally with 52 people onboard!!!

We managed to rescue a full load of poor souls that have painstakingly escaped from the demolished Mariupol :( In approximately 14 hours the bus will be in Lviv.

Have activated Roger Scott with the Warsaw bus to start rolling to pick people up.

Roger and Polish bus will arrive in Lviv around 3–4am. I’m going to look at getting the 2 bus drivers at the hotel so they can Kip for 6 hours.

Our 2nd bus from Zaporozie will arrive to Lviv around midday tomoz.

I’ve arranged free hot meals to be delivered to the bus as they arrive where they will have a feed and stretch and transfer over to our Polish bus.

Then start transit to Poland, direct for the refugee center at Warsaw expo. Expected to arrive at expo center around 7–8pm tomoz.

Some will stay, some will go and some will need accommodation in Warsaw if they decide to stay longer. The smoking hot team in Warsaw have all found a few hosts already to cater for this.

Massive well done on the Humanitarian supplies by the way [Note: Dan and Roger made a call on social media for supplies to fill the bus yesterday — with expenditure being reimbursed from the campaign]. Huge team effort, always last minute! Moments notice to move!!

Well done everyone for all leaping to attention imminently. This demands fast thinking and is only pulled off with you dedicated good cobs!!”

More updates to come, but everyone is safe and well and, more than ever, appreciative of the support.

Told you that bigger and better plans were coming soon! Calculated, selfless, and dynamic bravery to help others get to safety.

If helping us help others in this way is your jam, please donate and share the campaign if you can.
