Ethereum Developers Update Confluence Roadmap

The transition of the main network to the new protocol may take place as early as September 10.

Ethereum developers have updated information about the imminent transition of the blockchain to the Proof-of-Stake protocol. The mainnet upgrade could take place as early as September 10, according to the new roadmap.

The “merger” will consist of two stages. The first will be an update called Bellatrix on September 6th. If it is successful, the Paris update will be launched when the system reaches the required TTD indicator — Terminal Total Difficulty (cumulative network complexity up to the requested block).

Reaching the conditions required to launch the Paris update depends on the network hash rate and can occur within a 10-day period starting September 10th. Previously, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin talked about plans to hold the Confluence in August, but the event was later rescheduled for the second half of September.
