Michael Saylor has been charged by the District of Columbia with over $25 million in tax evasion. and its founder, it is said that Sailor, officially registered in the state of Florida, but actually residing in the District of Columbia, was obliged to pay taxes at the location.

The prosecution justifies this by saying that the billionaire owns real estate in the District of Columbia, and lives there at least 183 days a year. MicroStrategy is accused of helping Saylor evade taxes by providing false information about his place of residence. According to court documents, the businessman has been violating tax laws since 2014.

The American company MicroStrategy works in the field of corporate analytics and is used by many of the world’s Fortune Global 500 brands. Under Saylor’s leadership, the company has adopted bitcoin as its main reserve asset.

On August 8, the businessman stepped down as CEO of MicroStrategy. He has served as chairman and CEO since the company’s founding in 1989. Saylor continues as Executive Chairman of the Board of MicroStrategy and oversees its Bitcoin acquisition strategy.
